Copper!

3 year old male Bloodhound!

Copper is a sweet and sensitive guy looking for his family to call his own, for forever!

Before joining the FMN family, Copper had a rough go at life. Copper was rehomed privately twice earlier this year prior to being surrendered to the FNSB Animal Shelter! At the FNSB Shelter, he was adopted and returned 3 times :/ After 3 times in and out, FMN secured a fee sponsorship from our friends at Salty Dog Groomery and took Copper under our wing!

Copper was a bit stressed when we first picked him up! Being bounced around 5 times, 3 of those times being in the last 3 weeks - that would stress anyone out! After some quiet decompression time and a slow introduction into his foster home, Copper has really come out of his shell and shown off his wonderful, sweet self! Watching him grow comfortable and learn to trust us has been a blessing and privilege to watch

Since being in our care, Copper has shown himself to be a big, goofy, puppy! He has a great temperament, so loving, kind, and in tune with the environment around him <3 He has gotten along well with his foster siblings with proper introduction. He is known to chase kitties and would do best in a home without any feline friends. Due to his size and level of goofiness, Copper would do best in a home with bigger kids that are not easily knocked over and can understand to take it slow and respect his boundaries.

Copper is a smart guy! He knows all of the basics: sit, shake, lay down! He would enjoy the chance to learn more cues and skills with his new family! Being a hound, Copper looooves to use his nose! He would absolutely love to put his nose to work and join in on scent training! There are lots of scent training opportunities in Fairbanks! We really encourage his new family to enroll him in a course or use their knowledge to provide him with this breed specific enrichment and mental stimulation!

Copper is hoping for a home with a large fenced-in yard to explore, plenty of hot dogs to snack on, and humans that will love him throughout the entirety of his life and never give up on him! If you are looking for a lovable and sweet hound to keep you company on all your Alaskan adventures, consider adopting Copper!
