Our Mission
At Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue, we work together to rescue, adopt, and advocate for Alaska’s pets in need. We encourage and aim to create a positive environment for all pet families to learn and grow alongside us.
About Us!
Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue was formed after a group of volunteers saw Alaska’s increasing need for more animal rescue organizations. We came together with the common goal to help all animals in need. FMN is based in the Fairbanks area but serves throughout the state!
We take in pets from varying situations, from families experiencing hardships, to special medical needs, to stray dogs from Alaska’s rural villages. We practice a judgment-free intake process. We rather focus on providing the best future for our pets rather than dwell on the past. If you find yourself in a position where you need to surrender your pet, you can rest assured we will give our 110% to your furry friend and treat them like our own.
Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue is foster-based, meaning a majority of our animals are placed in temporary foster homes while awaiting adoption. Select animals are kept at our headquarters if that environment fits their needs best. Our headquarter serves as a home base for all incoming animals. All animals spend some time here to evaluate their personality and needs before joining a matched foster family. Our headquarters are not open to the public to ensure the safety of our animals, families, and fosters.
While Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue is brand new, our volunteers are not. The board leading this organization has several years of involvement in the rescue world and experience ranging from fostering, public relations, intake and adoption processes, and more! All of these skills combine to create a strong board, ready to get to the real work and learn as we go!
