Our Mission
FMN’s mission is to rescue, adopt, and advocate for Alaska’s pets in need. We aim to cultivate and nurture a community rooted in a shared love for animals and desire to do better for them.
About Us!
Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue was formed in April 2023 when a group of animal lovers recognized Alaska’s growing need for increased animal rescue organizations. Prior to opening FMN, our founders were thoroughly involved with other local organizations and gained valuable experience necessary to tackle this dream responsibly - including business administration, rescue specific policies & procedures, adoption coordination, fundraising, veterinary medicine, fostering, and animal behavior. Now in 2026, we have built a beautiful community of animal lovers dedicated to helping Alaskan animals in need
We are proud to be an entirely volunteer-ran, foster-based organization. We care for all species as our resources allow, with a special focus on medically needy and senior pets. All FMN pets are loved and cared for by our thoroughly vetted foster families in the Fairbanks area. Our volunteers work to provide support to our foster homes, raise funds for medical care, and connect with our community to share our mission
FMN takes in pets from a variety of situations, including families experiencing long-term hardships, pets with special medical needs, and stray dogs from Alaska’s rural villages. We practice a judgment-free intake process. We chose to focus our energy on providing the best future for our pets. If you find yourself in a position where you need to surrender your pet, you can rest assured, we will give our 110% to your furry friend and treat them like our own.
FMN is dedicated to providing ethical rescue practices and policies to ensure the care & wellbeing of our pets and their families.
