Our sweet, sweet Mellie/Melody has made a full recovery from her recent amputation and is not ready to find her forever people!

Melody has had quite the life - three major surgeries and two rough recoveries at only one year old. She has finally found peace and comfort as a tripawd cutie. There are no major long-term, life-long complications from an amputation but there is increased risk for early on-set arthritis due to the weight and strain on a single hind leg. Mel should be kept at a light weight to reduce joint stress and keep her body as happy for as long as possible. She has been started on a joint supplement that her new family should continue and keep her on through her lifetime.

Though Mellie has had a tough start, she has not let this negatively affect her shining personality in the slightest. She is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs. She is happy-go-lucky, eager to please, and always down for some snuggles & cuddles. She loves to sleep with her foster siblings (human and furry) and watch TV on the couch at the end of the end

Melody is kennel & potty trained and gets along with kids, cats, and dogs! She is the whole package and some. She would love a home with other pets to keep her company or active people who will make her the center of their world.
