Walter!
2 year old male Golden Retriever!
Our sweet Walter is fully cleared and ready to be adopted! He is a happy, sweet golden boy! Everything you would hope for in a companion dog!
Walter was returned to rescue last month when we was in need of emergency surgery to remove a sock and mitten that he had eaten! His vet was able to successfully remove both items and Walter made a full recovery. With this in mind, Walter’s adoptive family must be aware of the potential for this to happen again and be diligent about keeping small items out of his reach and kennel clear of “ingestibles”. Walter MUST be kenneled when home alone and will require a home that can ensure can be puppy proofed to ensure his success when hanging out with the family (no laundry easily accessible, no small toy laying around). Since coming off of kennel rest, Walter has been good about playing with his toys properly but he has only been allowed them under supervision and with post-play checks on the toys to ensure all parts are accounted for. His foster had to make a few adjustments such as keeping the bathroom door shut and making sure to put away socks/gloves immediately but other than this, it has been a simple transition.
Outside of this, Walter is a great pup! He is happy, playful, goofy, a big love bug! He loves to play with his friends outside! He is a big fan of holding stuffies in his mouth and playing tug-o-war! Walter is kennel and potty trained! He knows a few basic obedience cues but is still a young lad that would greatly benefit from a basic obedience course!
Walter is hoping to find a happy, active, loving family to call his own! He is the very best boy and deserves the entire world! We love him so much!
If you’re looking for a sweet golden boy, consider adopting Walter!
