Meet Bigfoot
6 full pound of love, loyalty, and ‘tude! Bigfoot is all things BIG in a cute, small, compact package. Does he suffer from a little bit of small dog syndrome, yes - but we think it just makes him more fun haha
Our boy Biggy B joined us a few weeks ago along with his housemate Copper when his family was no longer able to properly care for them. Since joining us, they have kept us on our toes and made us swoon (just a little bit!)
In our care, Biggy has been a well-mannered and very smart dog! He is kennel & potty trained, knows a few basic obedience cues, and has a real eagerness to please - he rivals some of our retriever friends in this quality! He is all about his person and is fiercely loyal to them always <3
Biggy does have a good amount of energy! Despite his size, he would actually make a great hiking and adventure buddy! He is quite agile and loves to sniff & explore everything! In the home, he loves to fetch and run in the yard. He would likely love to participate in agility classes, obedience courses, or other big brain games!
Nobody is perfect, no matter how hard they try and this is true for Biggy too! He does have a bit of small dog syndrome and believes he is really a 150lb mastiff. In most scenarios, Biggy has done well with other dogs! He has successfully been fostered with a large pack of 10+ dogs and cats without issue. He does best with relaxed, off-leash introductions without any pressure. He doesn’t love pushy puppies or being stared down by others but he is just fine if there is room for him to have his own space. He has done well with his kitty friends in group settings but feels pressured in one-on-one settings. Similarly to dogs, he is perfect with cats when there is enough room to retreat and have his own space.
Biggy has been socialized and fostered with kiddos and has done great! With his small size, it is incredibly important that kiddos are gentle and understand canine boundaries. He is much smaller than just about any kid and should be handled appropriately.
Ideally, Biggy would love to find a home with people who will love and adore his beyond measure! He wouldn’t mind (and would even enjoy!) another relaxed furry companion or two! He is hoping to find someone with an empty lap looking for a little pocket size love bug to spend their days with!
If you are looking for a little love, please consider adopting our sweetest little bigfoot!
