Meet Vera

Our sweet, precious Vera has officially been medically cleared and fully vetted! She is now ready to start the next chapter of her life with people who will love her as much as we do!

Vera found her way to FMN through some unfortunate circumstances where she was not well cared for and treated poorly. Despite this and having every reason to be fearful, protective, aggressive - she has been nothing but absolute perfection. Vera has the most gentle soul and loving personality. She is a true rare gem and we feel SO lucky to have crossed paths with her and to have had the opportunity to be a small part on her journey to a better life

While in our care, Vera was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. With this condition, Vera had multiple leather patches on her body, her nose, and her tail due to thinning/balding hair. Now several weeks post medication, Vera’s coat is coming in beautifully! Most of her body patches have filled in, her tail is no longer easily confused with a rat’s tail, and her nose is starting to fill in slowly but surely! Her medication has also made Vera feel sooo much better! She has her energy back and has developed a personality compared to her initial “deadpan log” state <3 This medication is very affordable at around 10-15/month depending on where you fill it! She will need continued veterinary surveillance to keep up with her meds and ensure proper dosage as her body condition improves!

Outside of all of her unique needs, Vera has been the best & most easy-going girl! She has done fantastic with all kids, cats, dogs, humans she has met. She is one of those go anywhere, do anything type of dogs that are beyond special.

Vera has done well off leash and has great recall with her people! She loves to go berry picking and play fetch until she decides she’s too tired and it’s your turn to get the ball. Most of the time, she can be found snoozing away on the couch or sitting at her foster moms’feet

Overall, Vera is just pure perfection. She would do well just about anywhere but would be happiest with one or two furry friends and people who will dote on her as she so so deserves

If you are looking for a best of both worlds, go anywhere do anything, love bug doggy companion, consider adopting our sweet Vera!
